More Trouble for Peck
August 10, 2001

Galena Hamsters owner Matt Peck is in more trouble with the law. Already being sued by a former employee due to an overstocked buffet table Peck is now the subject of a civil case brought by the family of a man who went insane at a recent Galena game.

For over a year now, between every inning, on the Titan Tron scoreboard, a music/video production called "The Hampster Dance" (hamsterdance.com) is played. While some consider the Hampster dance to be a relaxing diversion, it causes some people to freak out. That's what happened to John Brewton, 26, of Galena. After hearing and seeing the hamster dance for the 2500 time, Brewton snapped and killed five spectators, plus Galena mascot "Humpey the Hampster".

Brewton's family is suing Peck, for emotional distress.
