Offense Comes Alive
June 1, 2001

- The offense, which struggled early, has come alive recently, and with OF Brooks Kieschnick scheduled to come off the DL in a week, things should only get better. RF Mike Dashiell has been on fire recently, and has seen his average soar above .320. Manager Don Slaught has moved Dashiell into the leadoff spot to take advantage of his .369 OBP.

- When Kieschnick comes off the DL, look for the club to send OF/INF Eric Owens back to AAA Dodge City.

- With three first round picks and three second round picks in the upcoming Amateur Draft, GM Phil Raisor and his staff of scouts have been busy coming up with a draft day strategy. While there's a chance that the Outlaws might try to move up in the draft order, it's more likely the Outlaws will stay put and try to draft to fill specific holes, which means pitching. The only offensive position that the club would like to stock up on is at third base.

- It's easy to see why the team has been terrible so far this season, pitching. Only one pitcher on the entire roster with an ERA under 4.00 is Dan Miceli (3.38) and he's only pitched 5.1 innings.
