Official Reply to Area 51 Owner's Attacks
May 1, 2001
Sun Microsystems, San Jose, CA - "We are firmly offended by Area 51 owner
Jason Garner's comments regarding the sale of the Anchorage Abominations
baseball club to Sun Microsystems. We here at Sun are committed to putting
out quality products in a competitive environment. We have been fighting
for that right for years against tyrannical companies such as Microsoft and
Intel. It seems now we have yet another enemy, Jason Garnar. Though we
do plan to use our vast resources to acquire and keep the best players we
possibly can, we do not believe that this will overly disturb the balance or
quality of baseball played in the PVBL. In fact, the sale of more teams to
corporations will likely have a positive effect on the league, generating
more revenue through advertisement and corporate sponserships. Sun is
announcing a plan to sell the real estate and design of its players uniforms
for advertisement purposes. We have already generated enough revenue to
pay the contracts of all our players through the 2003 season. The uniforms
will display patches from the likes of McDonalds, KMart, Blockbuster, Sony,
and Coca-Cola, just to name a few. Pepsi-Cola is also making a bid for a
PVBL team, as yet undisclosed. I do not see this as the downfall of the PVBL,
I see it as a frsh start, a new beginning. An era of prosperity for all of
corporate America.
In response to the reports of manager/president Nick Tulach's supposed
drug dealing, he has stated that he is not dealing any illegal substances to
anyone. His general manager, "the Man", is in charge of that."
