PVBL: Montreal Royals
Two Pitching Duels

April 6, 2000

Despite a win and a loss, the year 2000 home-opener was deemed a success. Mike Grace was scheduled to start the first game, but he mistook his vitamins for bran pills and suffered diarrhea on opening day. Rheal Cormier was absolutely outstanding, outpitching Deadwood starter Greg Maddux. Brady Anderson hit a 3-run home run in his first game as a Royal.

Rumour has it Mike Grace purposely ate the bran pills to mask his nervousness of playing the first game of the 2000 season. Last season ended with an injury in September, but he is in top form now.

Rheal Cormier gave up only 1 run in the second game, but offseason acquision Bob Wells befuddled Montreal batters and the final score was 1-0, in Deadwood's favour.
