Mustangs Pitching Rules, Still Drop 3 April 6, 2000
The Medina Mustangs had the expected happen to them. The Mustangs dropped
a triple-header to the New Diggens Frogs, losing all three games by one run.
"If this team can find its stroke, it could be scary." said owner Randy Reese.
"We knew coming into the season that we would lose a lot of one run games."
The Mustangs only allowed 8 runs combined in the three games, but scored only
5.
The Mustangs have prospects in the minors that might provide some additional
punch to the offense, but Reese has chosen to let them develop in the minors
this season. In particular, both Dennis Abreu and Juan Encarncion are expected
to tear up their respective leagues.
"Why bring them up now?" said Reese, "We arent going to win the whole
enchilada this year, and they would be exposed to the new FA draft. Why not
let them stay in the minors tell next year?"
The Mustangs next travel to Motor City for a three games series before
returning to Medina for their home opener against New Diggens. Reese has
announced that the home opener has been declared Budweiser Day, and every fan
14 and under will receive a free can of Budweiser beer.
