PVBL: Kamloops Blazers
Blazers Catching Woes Solved?

April 9, 2000

KAMLOOPS- The Kamloops Blazers have finally found a catcher that they feel is major league quality. This afternoon they dealt under achieving pitcher Denny Neagle to New Orleans in return for Chris Hoiles.

"I'm glad to be getting to Kamloops where I'll get a chance to play every day," Hoiles said as he boarded a plane to B.C., where he will join his new team tonight. "With the Vampires, I didn't get much playing time with Kendall and now Varitek on the team."

Hoiles will bat out of the 9th spot for the time being and Bill Haselman, who has had the catching duties since the team moved to Kamloops, will be his backup. Hoiles has a lifetime .277 average in the PVBL with 20 HRs and only 2 errors in 145 PVBL games.
