New Orleans' pitching staff is now decidedly younger or, as Owner Jeremy Chrabascz put it, "talented and fresh." The Vampires have acquired the following young hurlers in the last week: Fred Bass, Ben Hamlin, Jackson Pride, Mark Thompson, Mike Walker and John Wasdin (they will combine with current young stars Sterling Hitchcock and Kevin Millwood to compete for next year's rotation). They have let go of Jaime Navarro, Tom Gordon, Denny Neagle, John Burke and Nigel Fernandez.
