Looking over the statistics, New Orleans Manager Pete Rose stated, "We stack up pretty damn well. Even better than I thought, offensively. I never thought we were the best contact hitters and the fastest guys in the McCoy but, well, we are. It looks Deadwood and Montreal have decided to live and die by their power. I can live with that. We'll be playing a more heads-up, strategy-filled type of game plan than they will be. Baserunning will be key. If we can keep the rest of these guys' hits in the park we'll be fine. My only real concern for this season is our fielding and avoiding injuries to the veterans. It ought to be one hell of a race." Yes indeedy!
