Galena, IL--GM/owner Matthew Peck pulled the trigger today, acquiring ace
pitcher Scott Erickson from Medina for prospects RHP Jesse Wynne and RHP
Art Cliburn. Erickson will assume an immediate position in the heart of
the Hamsters' rotation. "Some fans were starting to worry we weren't
commited to winning it all," noted Peck, "hopefully this trade will show
them that we are serious about winning, not only our division, but the
world series as well."
Kenny Lofton was one of several Hamster players that experessed
their delight in obtaining Erickson, "Scott is an established pitcher,
one of the best in the league. He's gonna go out there, give us 7-8
innings, and throw quality starts. Our rotation is damn scary now with
Appier, Erickson, TJ, Gonzo, and Pavano. We rock!"
