PVBL: Edmonton Sled Dogs
Edmonton Season Over

October 8, 2000

Missisauga(AP)- The Battle of Canada is over, and the Sled Dogs went out with a whimper. The Missisauga Maple Dogs trounced the Sled Dogs 9-3 to take the best of 5 series 3-1. What a disappointment for this proud franchise. After a brilliant start to the season and once having an 18 game lead over the 2nd place Montreal Royals, the Sled Dogs for some unknown reason, began to fall apart, and almost lost the Division title to the surging Royals. "Yeah, I'm disappointed." said GM Sculac."We really had a brutal second half of the Season. I've got to congratulate Mr. Gouldson and we will be cheering them on the rest of the way. It'd be nice to see a a Canadian Team win the PVBL." When asked about the status of Manager Alan Trammell, Sculac would only say that he would sit down with Alan in a few days and see what direction the Sled Dogs will go in next year.

The Sled Dogs protected only 3 pitchers for next season, Tim Belcher, Jose Rosado, and Mark Wohlers, and 6 positional players, ss Rodriguez,3b Ventura, rf Guerrero, 1b Tony Clark, lf Garrett Anderson, cf Jose Cruz Jr.
