Duluth Takes Advantage of New Orleans "Heat of the Moment"

May 15, 2000

Duluth, MN

No more than 24 hours after his firing, ex Vampire coach Pete Rose has been hired as an assistant to Head Eskimo skipper Kirby Puckett. "He'll work with our hitting, though I have a better career average, I'm no longer able to see the ball as I once did. Charlie will be a great addition to our franchise", commented Puckett. Eskimo sources also say that Duluth is still in dyer need of a 2nd baseman. Though Hugh is a great prospect with th bat, he's no glove at the 2 spot. "I hate it here, double plays, force outs, trying to stop attempted steals, I HATE IT. Bring the ball down, lower lower, scoop this relay that, I've had it", explained a distraught Coleman. Duluth is also at a crossroads ,much like the Vampires as they are only a few games out, yet can't seem to win games. "Its confusing, but hey, its baseball" added GM Lund.
