Abominations Ready to Close the Deal October 14, 2000
MississAuga ONT (AP) - After another come-from-behind, extra-inning victory,
the Anchorage Abominations are just one game away from the PVBL championship
series. After going down 1-0 in the best of seven series, the Abominations
have won three close games in a row to take a decided 3-1 lead in the series.
Game five is tomorrow and Anchorage will try to close out the series.
"We're gonna gonna blow them out of the park tomorrow. We're done (messing)
around with these guys. Its time to beat some (rear-end)." said Anchorage
infielder John Jaha. "We have a lot of respect for the Maple Dogs. They
are the ones who gave us the fabled 'magic cookies'. But tomorrow, they are
the enemy and we'll have no remorse." said pitcher Scott Service.
It is unclear who Anchorage will send to the mound tomorrow, but Willie
VanLandingham and Scott Aldred are available, as is Buddy Moisan. "I hope
I get the chance to finish off these (explitive). I can redeem myself for the
Game 1 (mess)-up" said Moisan, who didn't lose Game 1, but didn't pitch well
enough to win.
If Anchorage wins tomorrow, they will face teh winner of the Sacramento/
Spokane series. Sacramento leads that series 3-1 as well. "Sacramento is
a solid team. They are a lot like us, except we are EL, so therefore
automatically superior." said manager Nick Tulach.
