PVBL: Anchorage Abominations
Anchorage Wins Series Against Atlanta

May 1, 2000

Anchorage AK (AP) - After a disappointing series against league doormats -- Medina, Anchorage rebounded quickly and won their next series versus division rival Atlanta, 2-1. Bobby Jones did not miss a start as was expected, but was pulled after just two innings. "We wanted to take precautions. We felt like easing him back into it. He was still a bit sore." said pitching coach Chuck Crim.

Anchorage still remains two games back of the division lead and just one game back of Galena. The Abominations travel to Galena for a critical four game series. "We can't afford to lose any ground on this next trip. We need at least a split." said outfielder Brian McRae.

Anchorage will start VanLandingham, Aldred, Moisan, and Bottenfield against the Hamsters. It is not known whether they will rest any position players.
