Vero Beach, FL (AP) - Team sources have indicated that 1B Jeff King, an
original Vero Beach Bum, has been traded to the Washington Sea Dogs for
three draft picks and pitcher Shawn Boskie.
The Bums are now placing all their veterans that are eligible to be picked
up in the FA plan on the block, between now and 6 pm. They are looking
for: draft picks and prospects 24 years of age or younger. This includes
Phil Nevin, age 25, and Albie Lopez, age 25. [Lopez will take practically
an entire team to acquire.]
