Blockbuster Deal Goes Through, Belle an Atom June 18, 1999
Vero Beach, FL (AP) -- With a scant 3 hours left before the trading
deadline for draft picks, the Vero Beach Bums have announced that their
deal with Springfield has been confirmed by the PVBL office.
"That is a huge relief," said Bums owner Jason Gohlke. "My thanks to Aaron
Watson for closing the deal." Details are sketchy, but Watson was
reportedly physically unable to deliver the trade confirmation.
The Bums may yet have more deals in the works tonight.
