In a brief release to the press this evening, Punxatawney Grounhogs owner Dan Shapiro produced the following remarks:

"The Punxatawney Groundhogs organization would like to publically request that the draftee J.D. Drew, a rightfielder, remains unsigned for his entire lifetime. This player has already been asking around to some teams for multi-million dollar contracts, which is totally ridiculous for an untested player, as well as against the draft rules. Supposedly he is trying to solicit offers so he has bargaining power against the team which signs him.

Our organization, for one, will not ever consider drafting this spoiled brat of a baseball player. He does not deserve a spot on any major league roster in this season or any future season. Any team that drafts J.D. Drew will be publically condemned by our organization and we will permanantly sever all relations with that team.

Thank you, that is all."

Drew is one of the top prospects in this year's draft, and it is unlikely that all teams will be willing to pass him up. He has good speed, hits for power as well as for contact, and is a solid defensive rightfielder. He is also greedy, self-interested, and should never play major league baseball.
