PVBL: Deadwood Outlaws
Leiter/Subs Roll Past Royals

September 14, 1999

(Deadwood, SD)...Mark Leiter pitched 7 2/3 innings of one run ball, and OF Rich Amaral supplied the power as the first place Deadwood Outlaws beat the visiting Montreal Royals 6-1 in front of a sold out crowd here in Deadwood today. The Outlaws now have a 9 1/2 game lead with 17 left to play over the Royals.

Most of the Outlaw regulars were rested for this game, and some off the bench players made the most of it. INF Julio Franco went 2 for 3 with a walk, and is making a strong bid to be brought back next season. RHP Wally Lindsey struck the side out in the 9th inning for his strongest showing in his career.
