PVBL: Deadwood Outlaws
Outlaws Lead by 7 1/2 Games

September 9, 1999

-The Outlaws squeeked by Montreal 8-7 in 10 innings. Rick Aguleria got his first win of the season in relief of starter Mark Leiter. Mike Stanley, Rafael Palmerio and Tim Salmon all homered for the Outlaws.

-Deadwood now leads the McCoy division by a comfortable 7 1/2 game lead over Montreal.

-Outlaw 3B Scott Brosius will sit for the next few games to rest a bruised heel. Broisus first injured the heel almost two months ago, and it has not responded to treatment. He will be available for pinch hitting duties.

-Expect manager Don Slaught to begin to rest the regulars now that the team has taken a comfortable lead. RHP Rick Aguleria will take Rick Reed's spot in the rotation for a couple of turns, and RHP Bill Risley is expected to make a start or two also. Greg Maddux will probably be skipped after his next start.
