PVBL: Deadwood Outlaws
Fassero and Spoljaric Out of Rotation

May 18, 1999

PITCHING WOES
LHP Paul Spoljaric (2-3 3.41 ERA) will miss at least one turn in the rotation with a mild shoulder sprain, and LHP Jeff Fassero (3-2 5.82 ERA) has been pulled from the rotation due to poor performance so far. LHPs Jamie Moyer (2-0 2.97 ERA) and Al Leiter (1-0 5.27) will take their spots. Leiter has been the focus of recent trade talks, and it's theorized that Outlaw GM Phil Raisor is hoping that Leiter pitches well enough to fetch more in any trade.

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER SEARCH CONTINUES
Phil Raisor continues to search for an assistant GM to take over day-to-day operations of the Outlaws. Of the search, Raisor said,"I hope to have an assistant in place by the end of the weekend. I've got a call into an old college buddy that, while he's been out of baseball for a few years, has a great mind for the game. I had hoped to get some help from the commish's office, but no one there is returning my calls, so I'll try to find someone on my own."

TRADE TALKS
The Outlaws are interested in moving LF Brad Fullmer back to DH, so a new OFer is needed. Someone comparable to David Segui (Current DH 57-56-41) is wanted, good defense a plus. I have a couple of ok prospects left (C Bill Harrington 55-50-38 potentials, SS Hal Black) to give up.
