Pending league approval, the Deadwood Outlaws have traded all-star 3B Ken
Caminiti and RHP Alan Benes to Spokane for former CY YOUNG award pitcher
RHP Greg Maddux and INF John Mabry.
Mabry will play third and bat 8th for the Outlaws, while Maddux will take
Alan Benes' spot in the rotation.
Of the trade, Deadwood GM Phil Raisor had this to say: "We are thrilled to
have Maddux join our club, but a bit saddened to see Cam go. He's a
quality guy and will be missed. We just felt that, even without Caminiti,
we're going to score gobs of runs, and Maddux will soldify our rotation."
