Peter Carbonetto has raised the bid by $200. Now, it's Philip Raisor's turn
(owner of the Deadwood Outlaws).
That's right. Armando Reynoso, the former Kamloops number one pitcher, has
been added to Montreal's rotation, joining Kirk Rueter, Mike Grace, Pete
Harnisch and Rheal Cormier.
Reynoso was initially expected to move to Montreal's bullpen, but instead
Arthur Rhodes will stay in middle relief and Reynoso will continue his role
as a starter.
"The work [Reynoso]'s been doing in Truro has been largely unnoticed," says
Carbonetto. "While he is ideal for the bullpen, Reynoso is to valuable to
leave him out of the rotation. And Arthur Rhodes has more experience in
relief, so we feel this setup will work best for the team."
Now pressure mounts for the Outlaws franchise, who are currently holding a
1-game lead over the Montreal Royals. Raisor has been quoted saying that he
may have to sacrifice some of his offense to acquire the solid pitching
desparately needed in the #4 or #5 spots.
"Most of our cards are already on the table," says Carbonetto. "So we hope
the rest just, umm... plays into our hands."
