PVBL: Mississauga Maple Dogs
What's a "Maple Dog"?

June 21, 1999

With the arrival of their new baseball team the fans in Mississauga are ecstatic and still getting used to the fact that they have their own team in the PVBL. What they're also getting used to is the new name of their team, the Maple Dogs. There has been a large debate within the town after team owner Jesse Gouldson told everone at a press conference that he doesn't even know what a "Maple Dog" is. Now everyone has their own idea of what it is...

Here are some of the answers people on the street gave to the question "What is a Maple Dog?":

"It's a little groundhog that burrows into maple trees. I have one in my backyard."

"A friend of mine has a pet maple dog. They're cute little things."

"I have no fu**ing idea. Maybe some kind of a hamster?"

"I was camping once and one of them was nawing away at a tree. They've got these really long front teeth and a round flat tail. I think they're on nickels too."

"I had one of those for lunch the other day. Hot dog covered in maple syrup. Good stuff, eh?"

The world may never know...
