PVBL: Medina Mustangs
Medina Trades Fernandez

May 6, 1999

Medina- The Mustangs announced a major trade today, sending ace Alex Fernandez to Washington for pitchers Chad Ogea and Ben Hamlin.

"We had Alex penciled in as our #1 pitcher for the next 8 years" said owner/GM Randy Reese, "but he has really struggled this year, and perhaps a change of scenery will do him good. Besides, this was to good of a deal to pass up."

Reese then quoted from the preseason prediction sheet circulated around the league: "Chad Ogea: Decent arm strength, excellent control, excellent pitch ratings. Perhaps the best #4 starter around." "Washington's bullpen was a bit of a weakness last season, but it now features closer Ben Hamlin and setup guy John Wetteland."

"The funny thing is", said Reese, "This actually makes Washington a stronger team. Im glad Im not in their division!"

Reese then announced that the Mustangs next home game was Macarena day, where if the sound guy plays the Macarena just once, the fans can stone him.
