PVBL: Kamloops Bears
Reynoso Shipped to Montreal for Younger Players

July 31, 1999

KAMLOOPS-(CP)-Kamloops Bears GM Paul Glass made his first trade in the PVBL today as 30 year old pitcher Armando Reynoso was sent to the Montreal Royals in exchange for 3B prospect Bobby Smith, pitcher Luis Andujar and the Royal's 1st round FA pick.

"I'm happy to come to Kamloops where hopefully I'll get to start more than I was in Montreal. This team is going to be great in a few years and I want to be here when we bring the playoffs to Canada," said Andujar, the major player in this deal for Kamloops.

NEWS AND NOTES FROM B.C.

-The Bears played their first game in Kamloops yesterday. The game was sold out and fans were climbing the monsterous trees behind the bleachers to get a glimpse of the action. Too bad Telemaco blew the game in the 9th...

-With Reynoso gone, Neagle is reportedly next in line to make the trip to a contender. The Bears are apparently considering offers from three interested parties...

-The contest to name the Kamloops franchise continues in B.C. The most popular moniker so far is "Blazers", the name of a local minor league hockey team. Kelloggs has also offered a reported $60 million dollars to name the team the "Kamloops Fruit Loops". No news on whether Glass is considering this deal...
