PVBL: Hartford Whalers
Vaughn to Stay a Whaler

August 26, 1999

After receiving interest from a variety of clubs, both Mo Vaughn and the Hartford Whalers have decided that the other clubs were undervaluing him and that he would remain a Whaler. They are currently trying to work out a multi-year deal that would have him retiring a Whaler.

Meanwhile, veteran, power-hitting catcher Chris Hoiles and pitchers Ken Hill and Bobby Witt are still on the market for any playoff teams making a final push. It is rumored that 3B Matt Williams and SS Kurt Abbott may also be available.
