PVBL: Hartford Whalers
Hartford, Medina Make Minor Deal

June 18, 1999

To Hartford: CF Marvin Benard
RHP George Connolly

To Medina: LF Hank Warner
LHP Jack Broskie

Connolly is likely to fill the closer role now vacant in Hartford with Percival's departure. George has outperformed his ratings and surprised everyone with a 2.78 ERA through 22 innings. Benard will add speed off of the bench and will likely see some starts in CF.

Warner was this year's 3rd Round Ammy pick for Hartford and has great potential (CH-57, PH-55). He is currently 19 years old and 19-20-64. This was essentially a veteran for youth Speed Swap between Benard (SP-70) and Warner. Meanwhile, Broskie is one of the most promising young lefty relievers in PVBL. He will help complement Medina's righty-heavy staff and should give them some needed pitching depth.
