Edmonton(AP)-Just when everyone thought they had no chance of winning the
Division or even qualifying for a Wildcard spot, the Edmonton Oil Kings
rattled off their 6th consecutive victory, and have now won 9 of their last
10 games. "Wow, I can't believe how well this Team is playing.",echoed
Manager Alan Trammell. "We were 10 games under .500 at one time. We're now 3
over. And we're 8 games back of Deadwood. A lot of our success has to do
with the fact we got Finley, Frascatore and Rosado off the DL, and guys like
A-Rod, Tony Clark, Cruz Jr., they're all playing unbelievably well." When
asked if the Team was thinking about last years collapse when they fell
apart and lost the Division to Deadwood, Trammell only smiled." Hey, we've
got 33 games to go yet. Deadwoods been hit by the injury bug, but they're
still a hell of a Ball Club. But, yeah, the guys remember last season.
Maybe that's just a little more motivation."
