Trammell Throws Tantrum!

May 13, 1999

Edmonton(AP)-Manager Alan Trammell was never one to lose his temper in his playing days, but now that he's trying his hand at managing a Major League Club, we've finally seen him let loose. After last nights Doubleheader loss to Montreal(by scores of 9-1, 4-0)Trammell had finallyhad enough. "I'll tell you what, I can see why this team folded at the end of last season. There aren't enough Team players here! Too many guys are worrying about their own personal numbers and not this Team. Theres no way we should be 3 games under .500!" Rumours have it that Trammell put his fist through a Dressing room wall, threw a bundle of Bats against the Club House door, and berated an unknown Oil King. Last season rf Tim Salmon was rumoured to be on his way out. Is the same rumour out there today? "I don't know, that's up to GM Sculac, but right now I'd say anyone, with the exception or Alex Rodriguez, could be had. I'm extremely disappointed with the work ethic of this Club."

Notes:

rf Vladimir Guerrero and 3b Kevin Orie continue to struggle. GM Sculacs phone has been ringing constantly as to the availablity of these two youngsters. Will he deal one, or both? Perhaps Tim Salmons days as an Oil King are numbered? Salmon has looked disinterested since late last season.
