PVBL: Calgary Cowboys
Calgary's Response to Allegations

April 25, 1999

In response to Thunder Bays wild allegations, The Calgary front office would like to say that Jesse Gouldson is a trouble maker. Whenever there is contraversy, Gouldson is not far behind. Yes it is true that Frank Thomas, along with several other major league players, includind Jose Canseco, have been taking "Andros". But we would like to make it perfectly clear that Andros is not a drug, it is an already ensisting enzyme found in the body to increase muscle and energy.

Marty Cordova's comments were said out of anger because of the recent fact that he will most likely be out for the rest of the season. The Calgary Cowboys team physician, Willie Blair, condones the use of the product : "It is safe and there are no permanent side effects.".

Cowboy right fielder Juan Gonzalez had this to say about the situation:"Andros does help Frank work out , but there is no way it can help him hit the baseball, you have to learn how to do that." And has he ever,it has been well ducumented that Thomas is putting up staggering numbers this season. But little is known about his contributions off the field. In his first season in a new city, Thomas has already been to several charity functions. And if you are lucky, you might see him at one of his numerous trips to the pediatric wing of the general hospital, where he likes to spend his free time talking with less fortunate children. He deals with a wide variety of hurt kids, from children with cancer to kids with torn miniscuses.

In unrelated news, a brawl broke out in the Cowboys locker room last week after another embarassing loss. The brawl was between members of th e pitching staff and some position players who blamed the loss on the poor pitcing. The biggest battle was between Mike Timlin and Shawn Green. Needless to say Green got the shit beat out of him. No fines have yet been anounced. But this furthers the rumors that roster moves will be made.
