The Frogs are now relaxing, drinking a cold budweiser (compliments of
Budweiser) waiting for the season to start! After a hectic weekend of
trades and rumors the Budweiser Frogs are hopefully looking forward to their
best season ever. Days after bringing back ex crack user and for Frog GM
Leon Durham made some of the biggest trades in PVBL history. Leon
says,"This is why they pay me the big bucks, to go out and produce a world
series team out of a well below .500 ball club."
With the purchase of Glanville, Martin, and Vizquel the Frogs are now one of
the fastest teams in the league. "Every position you look at there is alot
of talent. We got speed, hitting and quality pitching" says Bonds. "Lets
just hope injury doesn't hurt us like last year!"
"The most important part of this team is the bench," says Grace. "We got a
backup for every position on the field if someone needs a day off or gets
hurt they can fill in."
"I don't know if this little town of about 125 people in Wisconsin can
handle the type of crowd we are going to bring in this year. Especially
when Galena is in town," says Foley. "A new stadium has been built, but
there is no place for people to stay. All we have in town is a Rustic Bar
and a Church. I guess the people will have to bring their tents out and
have big bonfires and drink alot of beer(compliments of Budweiser).
Foley also recently signed former Cub great 3B Vance Law to the
manager/coach position. Law says,"I've never seen a bunch of hard working
ball players like this one. They are not only exceptionaly great athelets,
but they are groot guys off the field as well."
The last days of spring training are almost up. In spring training:
Grace batted .320 w/ 29RBI
Delgado batted .312 w/14HR
Bonds was struggling batting .275
