Hartford/Ann Arbor Trade on Hold Indefinitely May 20, 1999
Ann Arbor(AP) - The AllKnighters would like to confirm the press
release from Hartford. A deal between Ann Arbor and Hartford sending
Dave Wells and Jeff Kent for Kevin Millwood and Clint Faatz was imanent,
but the AllKnighters decided to push the trade to the back burner for
the time being.
GM Michael Kennedy had ths to say, "We apologized to Hartford
profuselly, but felt that only 40 games into the season we didn't want
to rush to trade our #2 Starter. We really like Millwood, as would
anyone, but it was just too early to make this kind of a deal,
especially considering the way that our team is playing. Hartford was
accurate in stating that we would give them preference in dealing with
these players, we did like the deal over all."
"We wish Hartford the best in their duel with Deadwood, but we
really have to wait and see what happens with our own team."
