AP- The Tampa Bay Mets, in need of speed badly, traded Socks Bryne to Hartford
late Friday night. In return for Socks Tampa gets Harold Reynolds and Ron
Choate, two quality players.
Reynolds, who can play almost every postition, brought more speed to the team.
His ratings of 50 CH 53 PH 60 SP bring a new light to the infield of the Mets.
Choate, who is a great utility player, will bring a stable back up to the
infield.
Socks, who batted leadoff for the Mets last season, was upset about the trade.
In the news conference he said "I came over to Tampa Bay when Owner/GM/Manager
Chris McMurtry took over the team. I expect for a long stay due to the fact
that I was young and improving, but I guess all good things have to come to an
end."
