Offensive Displays Common for Pirates May 22, 1998
The Spokane fans were treated to an offensive display
that is almost becoming commonplace.
Mike Mathney Jeff Ness and Mark Mcgwire homered in todays Double Header
vs. Larimer. Ray Sanchez homered twice Brady Anderson, three times. And little Brett Boone hit Four Home Runs!
Thats a total of 12 home runs in just two games The Pirates are
leading the league with a total of 80 dongs in just 38 games.
For those of you who are mathematically challenged, that is
more than two home runs per game We caught up with Brett
Boone, and he let us in on his little secret.
"Well, the team is doing a benefit this year, where the Pirates
are going to donate $1,000 dollars to Big Brothers and Sisters of
America for every homer we hit this year. We decided to make
this year really hurt Jeremey Stephens' wallet. So far its 80 grand.
It is going to get much larger! It is kinda' contagious. You see
Mac and Brady go out there and do it all the time, and you kind
of figure I can do that!"
