Why did I move the team? The team was moved for many
reasons, and was planned for two years, not on the spur of the
moment as it might have looked. As mentioned in the previous
press release, the team had been playing in the spring training
facility instead of their actual stadium. A contract dispute
was mentioned as the reason, but the real reason was that the
primary stadium (in Richmond) took two extra years to build.
Movement of the team was planned to occur prior to this season,
but scheduling conflicts caused a delay.
The owner would wish to announce to all supporters that
the movement of the team has resulted in some temporary loses, and
the winning tradition shall return shortly.
A clarification must be made: the previous press release
resulted in the firing of the press sectary. He left under a cloud and
wished to destabilize the team. He made it seem as if the players on the
team would be "given away", when the real situation was that all offers would
be listened to, but unless it involved a reasonable deal the team would
probably not be conducting trades. Please forgive me for the inconvenices
brought on by the disgruntled employee.
