PVBL: Phoenix Gila Monsters
Park holds Weiner Roast

April 12, 1998

In a not-to-surprising development today, Phoenix pitcher Chan Ho Park held a Weiner roast, preventing the Washington Sea Dogs from scoring for almost 6 innings, while striking out 5 players with his flaming-throwing arm. "The only control problem I have is trying to keep myself from slugging Weiner.", Park said through an interpreter.

Park was apparently incensed at the pre-season slamming of his abilities performed by Sea Dogs GM in the media.

In a related story, Jeff Nelson appears to be in danger of losing his job as the Gila Monster's closer, after blowing a one-run lead to the Sea Dogs in the second game of the double-header. Phoenix is apparently looking for a new, young closer prospect.
