Pending league approval, the Deadwood Outlaws have sent RF Tony Gwynn to
Thunder Bay for RHP John Wettland.
Outlaw GM Philip Raisor, had this to say about the trade,"We've been trying
to pick up a top level closer since we traded Jose Mesa away, and Wettland
certainly is that..."
In the past two days, Deadwood has greatly improved what was one of the
league's worst pitching staffs. In three trades, Deadwood has added RHP
Scott Erickson, RHP Tom "Flash" Gordon, RHP Steve Reed, and RHP John
Wettland.
Rumor has it that Deadwood is close to picking up yet another veteren
pitcher for it's bullpen. Stay tuned for details.
