TOMBSTONE, ARIZONA--
GM Phil Raisor and player/manager Don Slaught are considering moving RHP Bartolo Colon out of the rotation and converting him into the team's closer. According to Slaught, "Bart has the abilities to be a premier stopper. He worked some out of the pen last year and was really good." If Colon does become the team's new closer, it is assumed that RHP Jose Rijo would step in as the fifth starter. It is also possible that Raisor may make another trade to bring in yet another starting pitcher.

Injuries:

3b Ken Caminiti sat out today's exhibition game against a team of Japanese All-Stars, with soreness in his reconstructed right knee. "The knee is a bit sore, but I'll be ready to go up North, you can count on it," said Caminiti. However, GM Phil Raisor appears nervous and is shopping for a suitable back-up, in case Caminiti is not ready to go.
