Laurel has just completed a trade with Montreal that sends 3B Garry Gaetti
to the Royals in exchange for 3B Tim Naehring. The Lynx gain 9 years on the
deal as the 37 year old Gaetti backs his bags and head north while the 28
year old Naehring comes to Laurel.
Gaetti is having one of his best offensive seasons in years batting .317
with 46 doubles and 18 home runs. When informed of the deal Gaetti was in
a word excited "I go from a team that has no chance for the playoffs to one
that has a shot. At may age that's important. I really got tired of
playing with all the kids here."
The team is fielding last minute offers for Reynoso and Brumfield.
