LAUREL, MARYLAND--Late last night the Lynx dealt veteran 1B Kevin Seitzer to the Duluth Bjork
for 20 year-old CF Ren Seward. Manager Floyd Hoerst said "Obviously we
don't like to loose a player of Seitzer's caliber, but we feel that we
acquired another fine young OF. Hoerst noted that Seward was the highest
rated CF in the low minors last year. He said "He has the potential to be a
decent power guy with some speed, it doesn't look like he will develop into
a great contact hitter at this point."
Seitzer was happy to be leaving Laurel "Once they signed Bagwell in the
off-season I didn't think I would get much of a chance here, especially
with the youth movement that is in progress. Hopefully I will get a lot of
at bats in Duluth."
