Just in time for the All-Star Break, Larimer Knights owner John Dybala
snapped out of his state of premarital bliss and prepared for a
second-half run at division leader Phoenix. Starters Tim Davis, Ugueth
Urbina, and Chris Haney were placed on the DL, while Lenny Dykstra saw his
surprisingly long stint on the DL come to an end. Mark Lewis will be
benched for a few days to allow his injury to heal, at which time Miguel
Friantage will be benched for the same purpose.
All eyes, though, are expected to be on rookie starter Bill Sullivan.
Sullivan, Larimer's first-round pick in last year's amateur draft, was
activated from the Class AA Cheyenne Cowboys, skipping the trip to AAA
Fort Morgan and going straight down I-25 to Laporte. Sullivan's first
start will be a couple of days after the break.
A player who asked to remain anonymous had this to say: "Hey, we get a
decent pitcher, our center fielder, and our owner back all in one shot.
There must be a God, because some of us thought the team would be sold and
moved before Mr. Dybala showed up again."
