PVBL: Hartford Whalers
Whalers Celebrate

August 8, 1998

Hartford, CT (AP)- The Hartford Whalers acted as if they had just won back-to-back world titles yesterday when informed that the league's records were set back a few weeks. Champagne was sprayed and their was a lot of dancing, hooting and hollering. Why, you ask? Well, suddenly Hartford's franchise and PVBL all-time worst losing streak of 14 was mysteriously erased and suddenly the Whalers were back in the race. "We may still lose 14," said Manager Chrabascz, "but I'd have to say the odds are now in our favor."

Meanwhile, all trades were re-confirmed. Hartford HAD traded Ken Hill and Arthur Rhodes and both trades were re-submitted to all parties for re-approval.

TRADEWINDS

NONE. Hartford feels they have done enough and Chrabascz feels, "I've rocked the boat enough this season so far."

New additions Alan Rochefort & Johnny Damon will reportedly make the 40-man roster September 1st.
