This just in. The Hartford Whalers have traded yet another quality veteran
hurler. This time, RHP Ken Hill is headed to the Ponxatawny Groundhogs in
return for two youngsters and a free agent draft pick. Here's a capsule of the
deal:
To Punx: RHP Ken Hill 75-94-69, age 29 (Exp 8?) To Hart: *RHP Steve Tsamis 82-74-29, age 21 (Exp 0)
1B Alan Rochefort 40-47-41, age 24 (Exp 1)
1st Round Free Agent Draft Pick
This brings Hartford's first round draft total in the upcoming offseason free
agent draft up to 5 (9 total in the first two rounds). No word yet on who will
replace Hill in the Hartford rotation but rumor has it a youngster down in AAA
is being given shot at the Big Show. We'll keep you posted.
