Edmonton- The Oil Kings yesterday dealt cf Mickey Kelly and p Mike Baldwin to
the Washington Sea Dogs in order to acquire pitching Ace Chuck Finley. "We are
happy to have Chuck in our starting rotation.. While certainly we'll miss
Mickey Kelly, I feel Jose Cruz Jr. will step in and play CF with no problem at
all. Last years amateur draft we selected LF Jacob Cruz who will now play in
lf. " GM Sculac was asked if he was still in the market for pitching. "Finley,
Rosado, Rogers, Dickson, and Foster....that's our starters for now. We've lost
8 in a row. The bleeding has to stop. We want to win this division. I'm open
to any and all offers." Will the Oil Kings continue to falter? Or will this
trade help them on their way to a pennant or wild card run? The fans in
Edmonton have spoken. In a recent Television poll, 68% of the callers said the
trade was a good one. 78% said the Oil Kings would win the Division. Let's
hope so. It'll be a dog fight to the end.
