PVBL: Springfield Atoms
Atoms Win Two

June 25, 1998

Springfield(AP)--Hi this is Kent Brockman reporting from George Burns Memorial stadium, where Coach flanders just might of staved off his firing with two wins today. It has been rummored that Burns has been sharpening his ax for Flanders. The Atoms were in the mix of a six game losing streak and have fallen out of first place behind those fury mammals-the Groundhogs! It has also been rummored that Burns and Flanders have arguing over whether to trade Justin Thompson for more hitting or to stand pat. Burns wants some hitting help in the worst way, while Flanders still thinks that this team can hit.

It is this reporters opinon that the atoms need to give up some relief pitching for some hitting! They also need to unload Sandy Alomar JR who is now sitting on the bench. Some plausible trades could include giving up Mike Stanton or Randy Meyers. This reporter feels its time to give the ball to Consendine and let chips fall where thay may...
