PVBL: Ann Arbor AllKnighters
AllKnighters Looking for Relief

December 7, 1998

Ann Arbor(AP) - The Ann Arbor Allknighters GM, Michael Kennedy, had this to say regarding the teams situation in the offseason, "After looking at last year's squad, we have come to the conclusion that we gave away too many games last year. It became a theme, the bullpen continually could not hold down leads. Therefore, the AllKnighters have gone into the market looking for someone to close out some ballgames."

Kennedy continured saying, "(Dario) Veras did a great for us last year, but we would feel more comfortable using him earlier in the game. We realize it will be tough to acquire some one to fill this role, but it will be our top goal in the offseason, along with adding general depth to our bullpen. That is the first step in our march to the upper division."

"We would be willing to give up our top ten pick in the free agent draft to help us get what we are looking for, said Kennedy, "In addition to this we would like to add a some more power to our infield and a right fielder. If these goals cannot be addressed in the draft, then we will have to try and acquire them through other means."
