Washington Sea Dogs Fine 3B Sean Berry

Washington Sea Dogs General Manager Aaron Weiner has fined starting third baseman Shawn Berry a reported 5,000 dollars for an argument with Manager Aaron Weiner after today's game on the plane ride back to Washington.

"Shawn Berry has been severely reprimanded for his actions," said Weiner. "A fine will also be issued, but we're not sure how much it will be yet. We will not suspend him, however."

The argument stemmed from the manager's insistence that Berry finish the game, as Berry had reportedly talked to the manager about leaving early for his nephew's confirmation this evening. Berry believed that with a seven-run lead, he should have been allowed to leave.

GM Weiner has not released the official information concerning the fine, but reports from inside the team indicate that it will be at least 5,000 dollars.

"The fallout from this has not been heard yet," said Weiner. "We don't necessarily want a player around that puts his own interests in front of the team's."

Berry is reported to be on the trading block.
