Pepper Virtual Baseball League

Washington Sea Dogs Join the PVBL

Greetings and salutations!

My name is Aaron Weiner, and I'm currently the last-place team in the entire league, the Washington Sea Dogs. Our name is derived from a failed candidate in a contest for the Washington basketball team, but we're proud to wear it.

I'm a grizzled veteran of the roto scene, but a rookie at the compu-roto scene. However, statistical analysis is something I've proven very good at. Oh, and if you play other roto leagues, I have an uncanny ability to figure out who's going to get hot, and who's not...except for this year. I will be resuming my baseball column on the ISCA BBS this fall, anywhere from two to five times a week.

Now, to business. I'm glad to be aboard, joining all you baseball people in what seems to be a hard-fighting game. But there are some things that need resolution, and I'd like to discuss them.

I'm currently in the market for a decent lefty outfielder to platoon with Mr. Conine. Right now, we have Derrick May filling that role - not an attractive thought. Nothing special, really, just a guy who can hit righties and hit with a little pop, or barring that, contact.

I'm also interested in a guy who can get lefties out for the pen.

IF you've got anything that fits the bill, and you're willing to trade, gimme a buzz.

Again, I'm happy to be aboard, and I'm looking forward to a long season.

-Aaron Weiner
