Border Patrol in Turmoil

Tucson - The Border Patrol is a team in Turmoil. After losing a franchise record 12 games in a row, Tucson has gone 2-2 in their last 4 games.

"It's been pretty ugly around here. Seems like we either get pitching and no hitting, or hitting and no pitching," said Owner Scott Watterson. "I think it's a problem with team chemistry. There's just no reason Kevin Brown should have a 4-6 record when he's got a 1.96 ERA. That's just not right. We're going to have to make some changes around here if we want to be competitive in the future."

Bob Higginson, Ray Durham, and Kevin Brown appear to be the only players guaranteed a spot on the Border Patrol roster next year. Obviously lacking a good fielding left fielder, Tucson also has a fairly old bullpen. "Eckersly has pitched poorly the last few weeks, with Ovitz picking up the pieces a couple of times," said Watterson. "He can probably help some team this year, but we're obviously not a contender."
