Tampa Bay finally has come to an agreement!!!
Tampa Bay was talking deals with Hartford and told Hartford Tampa Bay would trade Bagwell to them in return for three (3) pitchers. Hartford never responded to this last report and Tampa Bay got a press release later that day(from Hartford) with it saying that the deals fell through, so Tampa Bay went on to trade with DC. Tampa Bay did send mail with confirmation that they wanted the trade. Tampa Bay later sent mail in that voided the trade with Hartford not knowing that Hartford still was in the trade. This was all part of miscommunication.
As a compensation to Hartford and DC United Tampa Bay will let them pick one (1) play in their AAA division of their choice.
Tampa Bay apologizes for any inconvenience this has given to the league or anyone involved in the trade
