PLAYOFF PICTURE
Yesterday Brooklyn clinched the EL wild card and playoff spot with a win over Tuscon. The only race yet to be determined in the EL is the playoff berth in the McCoy division. Any combination of 2 Hartford wins or Deadwood loses will clinch a berth for Hartford. Deadwood will have to win 4 of its next 6 games to at least tie for first place in the McCoy division.
In the DL, the big pennant race is still in the Data Division. Phoenix has a 1 game lead over Chicago and a 3 game lead over Springfield. Both pursuing teams have been playing exceptionally, Springfield winning 7 of their last 10 games, and Chicago hoping to extend its 10-game winning streak.
The DL wild card is still being contested, with Chicago, Springfield and Binghampton all in the running for a spot. The 3-game series pitting Chicago against Binghampton (October 3-5) may decide the wild card.
